Hailing from Norwood, Massachusetts, Amici Cantores, which means “Friends Who Sing,” got its start in 1996 when a group of high schoolers decided to go caroling at the homes of friends and family. Today, there are 21 members, ages from early 20’s to their mid-30’s. Nostalgia kicks in often, with memories of high school, college and young adult life that are associated with music from the late 90’s and later. Who needs a high school reunion, when you have a group inspiring frequent blasts from the past? Amici Cantores is so close-knit that they are known to sing at each other’s weddings, graduations, and even funeral masses for family and friends. None of them sing professionally, but the amount of passion they have for the art of singing runs as deep as their hometown pride!
