Sing That Thing! is a television series produced by WGBH that is intended to showcase the depth, variety, and talent of the best choirs in New England. As a showcase for a deliberately broad range of singing styles and repertory, Sing That Thing! has three main categories: High School, College, and Adult groups, comprising of a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 65 members. Expert coaches will guide the groups, offering constructive suggestions throughout the season and will ultimately decide which groups will be named the winners in each division.
To register you need to complete the form below and send us a recent video of your group. Introduce yourselves, and tell us what makes you special as a group. Then show us why your group should be selected to perform on the upcoming season of Sing That Thing!
Your audition video may be in any musical genre, including but not limited to classical, jazz, Broadway, folk, hip hop, rap, a cappella, and world music and can be recorded on any device (smartphone, tablet or video camera). The entire audition video may be up to five (5) minutes in length. The performance must have been done in one take, without benefit of any editing. The recording must have been made after January 1, 2018. Audition videos can be accompanied by piano only and it should be at least 50% ensemble singing. 18 groups will be selected and announced by January 2, 2019.
The Top 4 groups who make it the Grand Finale will receive a $1500 honorarium in recognition of the additional time, effort, and expense involved with the extra day of taping.
